4,700 Hectares of Agricultural Land in Azerbaijan’s Liberated Territories Leased for 40 Years

Baku: 'Modern irrigation systems are being implemented in the liberated territories,' Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan Ilhama Gadimova said during a public hearing held by the Agrarian Policy Committee of the Milli Majlis on the topic 'Support for Entrepreneurship in the Agricultural Sector: Results and Prospects,' APA reports. The Deputy Minister emphasized that the restoration of agriculture in the liberated territories is a key focus: 'Developing and implementing new support mechanisms in this area has been set as a priority. In the liberated territories, 4,700 hectares of agricultural land have been leased to various entities.'

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Gadimova noted that in Zangilan district, 2,220 hectares of agricultural land, including 720 hectares of pasture, and in Gubadli district, 2,000 hectares of land have been leased on a long-term basis-40 years-to those engaged in agricultural activities.

The Deputy Minister also highlighted that short-term contracts are being signed with agricultural entities in the liberated territories, indicating a comprehensive approach to agricultural development and support.
