The construction of a new regional capital is underway in Akhal velayat, according to the newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan on February 2. The note is devoted to holding a round table on the topic of the construction of the city.

It is reported that 62 individual enterprises and five state enterprises are building administrative and public buildings, residential buildings, schools, medical institutions and sports facilities, and road transport infrastructure facilities. In general, the city is designed for 70 thousand inhabitants.

Begench Meredov , the director of the individual enterprise "Ussat Inžener" , said that it will be the city of the future - built using innovative technologies and achievements of scientific and technological progress.

“Important criteria for innovative technologies are: simplification and acceleration of the construction process ; reduction in the cost of construction ; increasing the life cycle of buildings; ensuring energy saving and sound insulation and a comfortable microclimate inside. In addition, this involves the use of fundamentally new methods of architectural design with the help of special computer programs, as well as the production of various types of innovative building materials ,” Meredov said.

On January 18, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived with a check at the construction site of the new capital of Akhal velayat. The head of state instructed to attract students for construction work. At a cabinet meeting on January 7, the head of state announced that the city would be opened this year.
