About 950-thousand protesters held rallies nationwide on Saturday demanding President Park Geun-hye's resignation over the Choi Soon-sil scandal.
In the capital Seoul, the anti-president rally, organized by a union of some 15-hundred civic groups and labor unions, started at 6 p.m. at Seoul Plaza.
Organizers said that about 600-thousand gathered for the rally in Seoul and some 350-thousand people showed up for similar protests in other regions across the nation.
The police estimated the figures for Seoul and other local areas at 170-thousand and 92-thousand, respectively.
