A tender for the construction of iodine and bromine plants in the Balkans has been announced again

The state concern "Turkmenhimiya" has again announced an international tender for the design and construction of plants for the production of iodine, bromine and their derivatives with the reconstruction of the raw materials base of the iodine plant "Balkanabat", Balkan velayat. The corresponding announcement was published in the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper on June 23.

Recall that the tender was announced on October 6, 2020, then extended on April 19 last year. This time the tender was announced anew.

In November 2019, Deputy Prime Minister for Transport, Communications and Industry Bayramgeldi Ovezov reported on the work of the Türkmenhimiýa State Concern to increase the production of iodine and salt. The official reported to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov that more than 500 tons of industrial iodine are produced annually in the country. Since there is enough production to saturate the domestic market, its main part is exported.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, four new industrial iodine production facilities with a capacity of 90 tons per year were put into operation at the Çukurguýy site in the Esenguly etrap of the Balkan velayat.
