The Ministry of Construction and Architecture of Turkmenistan has announced an international tender for the reconstruction of the Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan and the design work for the construction of additional buildings. The corresponding announcement was placed in the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan" dated September 3.
Applications are accepted until October 18.
Equestrian complexes have been built in each region of Turkmenistan. There are three such centers in Ashgabat and its environs: the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex, the Ashgabat Equestrian Complex and the Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan.
In November 2020, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a resolution on the reconstruction of the Mary equestrian complex and the laying of modern decking on the race track.
In March of the same year, on behalf of the President, the repair of the equestrian center in Turkmenabat began.
From September 2021 to April of this year, the reconstruction of the race track was carried out with the laying of modern flooring in the Balkan Equestrian Complex of the State Association "Turkmen Horses".
In February 2020, it became known that Turkmenistan purchased sand for race tracks from the English company Andrews Bowen Ltd. for a total of £1 million. As one of the representatives of the British company noted, despite the fact that there is a whole desert in Turkmenistan, the sand from the Karakum Desert is not suitable for covering because of too round grains of sand.
