A tender has been announced for the construction of a soda production plant at a plant in the Balkans, which cannot be reconstructed since 2020

The State Concern "Turkmenhimiya" on behalf of the tender commission announced an international tender for the design and turnkey construction of a complex of plants for the production of caustic soda, chlorine and chlorine derivatives at the Balkanabat iodine plant (Balkan velayat). The corresponding announcement was placed in the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan" dated July 8.

Recall that in December last year, Deputy Prime Minister Charymyrat Purchekov, who is in charge of the construction, industrial and energy complex, reported to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov that caustic soda, chlorine and chlorine products would be produced at the Balkanabat iodine plant of the State Concern Turkmenhimiya.

To this end, the members of the UIET planned to create an open joint-stock company Balkanhimsenagat jointly with the State Concern, where, after the reconstruction of the existing workshops of the Balkanabat iodine plant, the production of chemical products in demand in industry and medicine will be launched.

Meanwhile, in October 2021, Purchekov reported that the Balkanabat plant with a design capacity of 450 tons produces only 340 tons (75.5%) of technical iodine per year and spoke about plans for its reconstruction.

For the first time, an international tender for the design and construction of plants for the production of iodine, bromine and their derivatives with the reconstruction of the raw materials base of the Balkanabat iodine plant was announced by the State Concern "Turkmenhimiya" in October 2020. In April 2021, the tender was extended . In June of this year, Turkmenhimiya announced a new tender.
