A VIDEO MEETING WAS HELD WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE KOREA INTERNATIONAL TRADE ASSOCIATION AND THE SECRETARIAT OF THE CENTRAL ASIA – REPUBLIC OF KOREA COOPERATION FORUM

On a video meeting was held between the Korea International Trade Association, the secretariat of the Central Asia – Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum, and the leaders of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the countries of Central Asia.

The online meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, the co-chairs of the secretariat of the Central Asia-Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum, the leadership of the Korea International Trade Association, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions and heads of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the countries of Central Asia.

The purpose of the meeting is to develop trade and economic cooperation between the Republic of Korea and the countries of Central Asia. In this context, the parties exchanged views on the initiative of the Korean side to create a Business Council of the Republic of Korea and Central Asian countries.

During the meeting, the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan made his presentation. In their speeches, the leaders of the CCI raised questions of further strengthening multilateral and reliable trade and economic cooperation between the countries, establishing relations between the business communities and implementing projects in areas such as arbitration, tourism and industry.

At the end of the meeting, the parties signed a Memorandum in electronic form on the establishment of a “Business Council of the Republic of Korea – Central Asia”.
