A year after the award, the ex-UN Secretary General received a medal from Turkmenistan

On November 17, in the capital of Korea, the city of Seoul, the Embassy of Turkmenistan organized an official event in honor of the 30th anniversary of the country's independence (Independence Day is celebrated on September 27 - HT), reports "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The event was attended by ambassadors of neighboring countries and member states of the Organization for Economic Cooperation, as well as representatives of international organizations.

From the Korean side, the head of the Institute for Global Green Growth, ex-UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Deputy Foreign Minister of Korea Kim Hyoeung took part in the event as a distinguished guest .

At the celebration, Ban Ki-moon on behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was awarded the jubilee medal "25th Anniversary of Neutrality of Turkmenistan". The diplomat thanked the head of state and noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to cooperation with international organizations, in particular with the UN, the newspaper writes.

On December 11, 2020, on the eve of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov awarded Turkmen officials and international diplomats the Bitaraplyk (Neutrality) order and the anniversary medal “Türkmenistanyn Bitaraplygynyn 25th 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality.” Then, among other things, the medal was received by the ex-UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
