A group of 14 employees of the Afghanistan Railway Department arrived in the city of Turkmenabad, the administrative center of the Lebap velayat (region) of Turkmenistan, for an internship.

Turkmen specialists at workplaces and production sites will familiarize guests with the organization of railway transportation management, infrastructure facilities and personnel, and various technical operations.

The advanced training course for Afghan railway workers in Turkmenistan is designed for three months. The internship was organized by agreement of the parties in order to increase the potential of the Afghan railway industry, its integration into regional and international transport projects.

Turkmenistan is interested in the restoration of Afghanistan and its integration into world economic relations. According to Ashgabat, one of the important sectors in this process is railway communication.
