Afghanistan and Turkmenistan extended the contract for the supply of electricity in 2023

On January 24, the Afghan energy company DABS and the Turkmen "Turkmenenergo" signed an agreement to extend the contract for the supply of electricity from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan for 2023, Interfax reports .

The details of the agreement were not disclosed.

In addition to Turkmenistan, DABS signed an agreement for the supply of electricity with the National Energy Company of Tajikistan.

At a Cabinet meeting on December 23, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Resolution allowing the State Corporation T├╝rkmenenergo to extend the terms of contracts concluded with Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat to send electricity from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, as well as to set the volumes and prices (they are not named) of the electricity sent .

Later it became known that at the end of December in a number of regions of Afghanistan there were interruptions in the supply of electricity, which even in Kabul was turned on for 4 hours a day.
