Berdymukhamedov visited the Malaý gas field on January 4 and held a working meeting the next day, focusing on the fuel and energy complex, state news agency TDH reported .

The event was attended by the leaders of the China National Petroleum Corporation ("CNPC").

In his speech, the President of Turkmenistan expressed his wishes to develop Turkmen-Chinese relations.

In response, the general director of the branch of the corporation in Turkmenistan Chen Huailong noted that on July 17, 2007, the State Concern "Türkmengaz" and the corporation "CNPC" signed a Production Sharing Agreement on the contractual territory "Bagtyyarlyk", where today industrial development of 29 gas fields is being carried out and production of "blue fuel" from 137 wells. As it was emphasized, in 2021, about 34 billion cubic meters of natural gas were sent from Turkmenistan to China.

It was emphasized that January 6, 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of China.

Berdymukhamedov also heard reports from local leaders. He was informed that the velayat plans to increase the yield of potatoes and vegetable and melon crops by reducing the sown area for cotton and improving breeding work.

On the same day, the President flew to Ashgabat.
