Almost 4,000 doctors of retirement and pre-retirement age work in Kyrgyzstan

Almost 4,000 doctors of retirement and pre-retirement age work in healthcare organizations of Kyrgyzstan. The Ministry of Health provided such data with reference to the Electronic Healthcare Center (EHC).

According to the ministry, 3,015 doctors are pensioners and 854 are of pre-retirement age.

It should be noted that 1,771 doctors and 4,260 specialists with secondary medical education were employed in healthcare organizations in 2022, while 1,592 doctors and 3,908 specialists with secondary medical education quit their job.

Deputy Zhyldyz Sadyrbaeva reported at a parliamentary meeting on Thursday that there were practically no doctors left in Ak-Tala district; only nurses came to meet with the deputies. The personnel issue, according to her, is very acute; there are 126 medical vacancies in Naryn region.

According to the EHC, the level of provision with doctors is high in Bishkek and Osh, and low in Talas, Chui and Jalal-Abad regions.

At least 3,750 specialists with higher medical education and 4,836 with secondary medical education graduated from the educational institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic in 2022.
