Today, on the instructions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow, Mejlis Speaker G. Mammedova received the credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic, Elvis Antonio Alam Lora.
On behalf of the Turkmen leader, the leader of the National Parliament congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to the important position and wished him success in his important role aimed at establishing interstate relations based on the principles of trust and mutual respect.
The plenipotentiary representative of the friendly country, expressing gratitude for the kind words, conveyed to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov the warm greetings of the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, and his best wishes to all the Turkmen people who are confidently moving forward on the path of economic development.
During the meeting, there were serious discussions on a wide range of Turkmen-Dominican cooperation issues, which have been successfully carried out in the framework of major international organizations, both bilaterally and multilaterally. The ambassador was introduced to the main directions of the foreign and domestic policy of neutral Turkmenistan, which brought great international prestige to our country and ensured universal respect, and he was informed about the progress of fundamental reforms, which became the main symbol of the revival of the new era of the stable state.
The Chairman of the Mejlis talked about the tremendous achievements of Turkmenistan during the years of sovereign development, the large-scale reforms that are being carried out for the benefit of the happiness and well-being of the Turkmen people at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The diplomat was informed about the composition and activities of the national parliament, as well as the fundamental reforms in the legislative system.
At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic assured that he will spare no efforts to further deepen the multifaceted relations, taking into account the national interests of the two countries and their tendency to comprehensively expand mutually advantageous cooperation.
