Ambassador of Canada accepted at Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan

A meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the Ambassador of Canada, Christopher Cooter, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit.

During the meeting, the parties examined the possibilities of organizing the first mutual visits at the highest level. They also exchanged views on topical issues of expanding cooperation within the framework of international organizations, in particular the UN.

Noting the commonality of approaches to solving global problems through diplomatic negotiations, the parties made proposals for combining initiatives to combat international challenges such as terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking.

The parties also considered the possibility of cooperation in the areas of economics, education, environmental protection, as well as preventive and water diplomacy.
