On March 17, a new ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (or IEA, as Afghanistan calls the current Taliban government) in Turkmenistan was appointed Fazal Mohammad Saber , Ariana News reports .
The inauguration ceremony, which took place in Ashgabat, was attended by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vepa Khadzhiev , who expressed support for the IEA and stated that cooperation with the diplomatic mission would help implement the TAP (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power line) and TAPI projects.
Judging by the published photographs, the flags of the former Afghan administration are still flying at the embassy.
