Amended version of the Anti-Corruption Law is being prepared in Turkmenistan

In Turkmenistan, the work is underway to draft a new version of the Law On Countering Corruption. This was reported at a joint session of the Cabinet and the State Security Council by Security Council Secretary, Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan Ya.Berdiyev.

As was reported, the anticorruption law, to which essential amendments and addenda will be introduced, will determine the legal and organizational framework of anticorruption activities, carried out in order to prevent, reveal and detect offenses, as well as to prosecute those who commit them.

Emphasizing the crucial importance of improving the legal framework for controlling such negative phenomena as bribery and corruption, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov said that this work is aimed at protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens, increasing the efficiency of state agencies, safeguarding national security and stable economic growth of Turkmenistan.
