New York: Main index indicators of world stock markets experienced notable changes on April 22, with both American and European markets showing varied results.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, in the American stock markets, the Dow Jones index saw a substantial rise of 2.66%, reaching 39,186.98 points. Similarly, the S and P 500 index increased by 2.51% to 5,287.76 points, while the Nasdaq index grew by 2.71%, closing at 16,300.42 points.
Meanwhile, in the European stock markets, the FTSE 100 index marked a rise of 0.64%, reaching 8,328.60 points. However, France's CAC-40 index experienced a decrease of 0.56%, falling to 7,326.47 points. Conversely, Germany's DAX index increased by 0.41%, ending the day at 21,293.53 points.
In the global currency markets, the euro's exchange rate against the dollar fell by 0.24%, setting the new exchange rate at $1.1394.
