An athlete from Turkmenistan won a silver medal at the World Weightlifting Championship

Weightlifter from Turkmenistan Rejepbai Rejepov became the second and won a silver medal in the category up to 81 kg at the World Weightlifting Championships, which takes place in Colombia. This was reported on the website of the International Olympic Committee.

The weightlifter took 164 kg in the snatch, 202 kg in the clean and jerk and 366 kg in total.

Chinese weightlifter Li Dayin won first place and the gold medal with 171 kg in snatch, 201 kg in clean and jerk and 372 kg in total . The third was the South Korean Kim Woo-jae ( Kim Woo -jae ) with the result of 162 kg, 195 kg and 357 kg respectively.

The information site "Gundogar" writes that 7 weightlifters from Turkmenistan participate in the competition: six men and one junior.

At the same time, as the newspaper notes, except for Rejepov, other eminent Turkmen weightlifters do not participate in competitions for unclear reasons. They include Polina Guryeva , who won a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, which was the first Olympic medal in the history of Turkmenistan.
