Baku: The 9th meeting of the Working Group on coordination and monitoring regarding the application of green technologies and energy efficiency requirements in the liberated territories was held at the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Energy told APA-Economics.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Chairman of the Working Group, Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov, highlighted the restoration, construction, and reconstruction activities undertaken in the liberated territories under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. He emphasized the importance of implementing the 'green energy zone' concept in these regions. The adoption of modern approaches that ensure energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy was positively evaluated, with the construction of solar, wind, and hydroelectric power plants contributing to the development of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur as a 'green energy zone.'
A report was presented by the Secretariat of the Working Group on the progress made towards implementing decisions from the previous meeting. Information was also shared about the results of monitoring carried out during the current year in 11 cities and villages of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur. Indicators reflecting the current state of solar panel and collector installations, LED-based lighting equipment, electric charging stations, smart benches, as well as the use of thermal insulation materials and energy-saving lamps, were discussed. A presentation on the Implementation Mechanism for the installation of rooftop solar panels on individual residential houses and administrative-public buildings covered technical criteria, implementation stages, and possibilities for scaling the project. An exchange of views was held on the energy supply of boiler houses in the city of Shusha, and future steps in this area were reviewed.
