On January 23, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on the establishment of a court and a prosecutor's office in the city of Arkadag, Akhal velayat, the state news agency TDH reported.
The court of Arkadag will include the chairman of the court, a judge, one judge for administrative and executive proceedings and 60 court assessors.
Note that the authorities promised to officially open the city in December, but this did not happen. On January 20, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov , who is on a working visit to Turkmenistan, took part in the groundbreaking ceremony for his main mosque.
On December 3, ex-president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov ordered the status of the settlement to be established and given its "modern name". On December 21, the head of the Mejlis reported to the president that a decision had been made to name the city Arkadag.
