Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during his visit to Moscow, advocated the development of cooperation with Russia in the field of culture and education.
Speaking at the talks with the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, he noted that the peoples of Turkmenistan and Russia have lived side by side for centuries, they are united by a huge layer of personal, family and professional ties.
«Together we went through difficult trials, together we achieved outstanding victories and achievements. It is not surprising that with all the diversity and originality of each of our peoples, they are united by strong cultural ties, basic values, moral principles and traditions – creation, love for the Fatherland and the homeland, the sanctity of family ties, respect for other peoples, justice, solidarity and mutual support», Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized.
Hero-Arkadag noted the need to develop and strengthen these values, to create understandable and reliable legislative foundations that will provide a political and spiritual margin of safety for moving forward in accordance with national ideas and the sovereign choice of a model of state and social structure.
According to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, culture and education are the most important, perhaps the decisive factor here. The head of the upper chamber of the Turkmen parliament called for more active use of parliamentary levers to strengthen and develop cooperation in these areas, create conditions for closer cultural interaction, the creation of joint educational programs and projects, and contacts between the creative and scientific intelligentsia of Turkmenistan and Russia.
