Armenia’s concentration of vehicles at ‘Lachin’ border checkpoint is part of political show

On July 25, the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan issued a statement saying that Armenia was masterminding yet another act of sabotage at the 'Lachin' state border checkpoint by organizing the concentration of various vehicles at the Armenian side of the border checkpoint. The Azerbaijani side called on Armenia to refrain from provocative actions that threaten to escalate the situation and stated that responsibility for potential consequences rested squarely with Yerevan. Despite the warning, on July 26, Armenia concentrated vehicles on the Armenian side of the 'Lachin' border checkpoint. These actions are nothing but a political show, manipulation and yet another provocation attempt by the Armenian side, AZERTAC reports. Azerbaijan has repeatedly stated that the Aghdam-Khankendi road could be used to transport goods to the areas where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily stationed. It is completely incomprehensible why people who call themselves representatives of the self-styled regime are refusing to use the Barda-Aghdam road, which is undergoing reconstruction after occupation and allows goods to be delivered more quickly and efficiently. This is actually a clear manifestation of racism and an attempt to mislead international public opinion. By taking such steps, Armenia creates a political show and demonstrates the true essence of political speculation. Bringing representatives of foreign embassies, including the European Union, to the border literally means staging a spectacle out of the issue. On the other hand, the participation of representatives of the embassies of Western countries in this performance is nothing but hypocrisy. This show of Armenia and its patrons will not bring any results and is doomed to failure. We recall that the Azerbaijani side declared its intention to sign a peace treaty with Armenia and offered its proposals to the other side. This shows that Azerbaijan is pursuing a peaceful policy despite the fact that its territories remained under occupation for many years. At the same time, the Azerbaijani side called on Armenia to refrain from any provocative actions that could potentially aggravate the situation.
