Baku: Artur Abramyan has revealed significant details regarding the financial support received by Armenian armed groups during the ongoing court hearings at the Baku Military Court. His testimony provided insight into the distribution of funds intended for operations in Azerbaijani territories.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Abramyan testified that financial assistance was sent from Yerevan to support the Armenian armed groups operating in Azerbaijan. The funds were reportedly delivered by helicopter to Khankendi, facilitated by Vazgen Manukyan, the then Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Armenia. Robert Kocharian received the funds and handed them over to Murad Petrosyan, who distributed them among the armed group members.
The witness also recounted a specific incident from early October 1989, where Murad Petrosyan instructed his team, including Akop, Abo, Slavik, Ashot, and Gago, to destroy a bridge as part of a strategy to blockade the city of Shusha. Additionally, Abramyan disclosed that he learned from Samvel about a rocket attack launched at Shusha from the Topkhana forest, carried out by Samvel and other group members targeting civilians.
Further corroborating his earlier statements, Abramyan, during a video-recorded interrogation on June 28-29, 1991, reiterated that financial support for the illegal armed groups came from Vazgen Manukyan and Levon Ter-Petrosyan. The funds were received in Khankendi by Robert Kocharian, who played a crucial role in the distribution process.
