During a video-selective meeting, Deputy Prime Minister for Agriculture Esenmyrat Orazgeldiev reported to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov on the progress of seasonal agricultural work.
The head of state, in turn, gave Orazgeldiyev some instructions for the implementation of the agrarian reform. Among other things, the president ordered to pay attention to the historical agricultural experience of the ancestors and to prepare a collection of popular expressions, proverbs and sayings, which, according to Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, accurately characterized the characteristics of farming.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov: Agriculture is the most ancient branch of the economic activity of the Turkmen people. Our ancestors have accumulated rich and invaluable experience in growing crops in the conditions of the arid zone. This historical experience has not lost its relevance to this day. It is formulated in a huge number of popular expressions, proverbs and sayings, which accurately characterized the features of farming.
As the state news agency TDH writes , employees of the Turkmen Agricultural University will be engaged in the preparation of a dictionary of catch phrases, ancestors who have absorbed the wisdom of the ancestors and preserved in popular memory .
Earlier, President Berdymukhamedov predicted good harvests in 2019, since according to the eastern horoscope this is the Year of the Pig.
Recall that in Turkmenistan it was decided to carry out reforms in the agricultural industry after the poor harvest of wheat in 2018, when according to official data 1 million tons of wheat was harvested, instead of the planned 1.6 million tons. Subsequently, this led to a shortage of flour and bread in Turkmenistan. In 2019, the President ordered to pay special attention to increasing the yield of wheat.
