During International Gas Congress in Avaza, Head Advisor of the Secretary Office of the Energy Charter Dr Jose Alejandro Carballo Leyda informed the participants on the work carried out under the chairing of Turkmenistan in the Conference of the Energy Charter. Special attention is attached to such priority directions of international cooperation in energy sector as provision of multiple choice of energy routes and expansion of their geography what is the most important condition of global energy security and sustainability of all system of the world economy; energy efficiency and energy saving, implementation of innovative technologies and modern management methods; ecological aspect and use of renewable sources of energy; reliability and safety of international energy routes, provision of international transit of energy carriers on equal and fair basis and principles of economic and commercial validity; investment activity in energy sector, increment of efficiency of investments and their protection.
It was mentioned that improvement of existing mechanisms of international cooperation in energy sphere and development of multilateral Framework Agreement on transit of energy resources would be discussed in details during the forum of the Energy Charter in Ashgabat next week.
