Ashgabat hosted regular session of Intergovernmental Turkmen- Pakistani commission, for participation in which representative delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan arrived in the capital.
During the session, the sides shared the opinions of current relations, discussed wide spectrum of issues of bilateral cooperation, specified its priority directions and confirmed the willingness to continue intensifying interstate dialog.
Having stated with delight the dynamic character of the partnership, co-chairmen expressed the confidence that current meeting would enhance the consolidation of versatile contacts in economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian spheres.
The agenda included the subjects of realization of the agreements achieved earlier and recommendations of the previous session of Turkmen � Pakistani intergovernmental commission.
Having highlighted that activation of cooperation in number of man directions was observed in the past period, the participants of session spoke for diversification of cooperation in trade, economic and transport spheres.
Having mentioned favourable investment climate made in Turkmenistan for work of foreign partners, the representatives of Pakistan delegation informed on the desire of the business circles of their country to expand cooperation in trade sphere.
Consolidation of cooperation in fuel and energy sectors were the separate subject of discussion. It was highlighted that Turkmenistan considers Pakistan as strategic partner in realization of large international projects for delivery of Turkmen energy to the world's markets.
Ashgabat and Islamabad try to involve their potential of cooperation in realization of large-scale strategic project for construction of transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan � Afghanistan � Pakistan � India, which is to provide long-term supplies of Turkmen gas to the larges countries of South Asia region.
The sides also discussed the projects for establishment of new international transport and transit corridors and supply of Turkmen electrical energy to Pakistan.
The participants of the meeting noted priority character of humanitarian partnership in such directions as culture, education, science, sports and tourism. The reasonability of joint events, participation in conferences and forums was highlighted.
Pakistan side was invited to visit Ashgabat during V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.
Final protocol was signed at the end of Intergovernmental Turkmenistan _ Pakistan Commission session. Noting the efficiency of the meeting, the participants highlighted that this document would allow considerably expanding the frames of bilateral cooperation as well as opening of new perspectives for multi format partnership.
