Astrakhan State University expresses interest in developing cooperation with Turkmen universities

Consul of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan (Russian Federation), Guych Garayev visited the Astrakhan State University (ASU to have a meeting with rector Konstantin Markelov.

The prospects for cooperation in the scientific and educational sphere and training students from Turkmenistan in various areas were discussed during the meeting. Currently, 1,245 citizens of our country are studying at the university. Rector K. Markelov noted the dedication of the Turkmen youth in mastering the necessary knowledge, active participation in the scientific, creative and sports life of the university.

During the meeting, Rector K. Markelov addressed congratulations on occasion of the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality and expressed interest in holding a video meeting with representatives of Magtymguly Turkmen State University, as well as in organizing an online lecture for the ASU students on the phenomenon of the Turkmen model of neutrality.

During a tour of the Astrakhan State University, Consul G. Garayev visited laboratories and research centers, including those for robotics and electronics, classrooms and scientific library.

The Turkmen diplomat got acquainted with the ASU development strategy, as well as the main directions of the international activities of the university and academic exchange programmes with foreign universities. In conclusion, the consul and the rector of the university met with students from among the Turkmen youth.
