President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a videoconference with the participation of the Chairman of the Mejlis and Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, dedicated to significant events for our country. So, at the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan, the UN General Assembly adopted by consensus an important document - the Resolution on the Proclamation of 2021 as the International Year of Peace and Confidence.
Opening the video conference, the head of state said that good news came from the United Nations headquarters in New York, which became yet another eloquent testimony to the high international authority of the independent neutral Fatherland and the universal recognition of the constructive initiatives put forward by our country. In this regard, the President gave the floor to the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov.
As the Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister reported, at the 106th plenary meeting of the 73rd session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, all UN member states unanimously adopted the Resolution "2021 - International Year of Peace and Confidence" initiated by the President of Turkmenistan.
Along with this, it was noted that, as is known, on the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on August 11-12, 2019, the First Caspian Economic Forum was successfully held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.
The results of the KEF and important events held within its framework were reflected in the Final Statement of the Caspian Economic Forum, which was adopted on September 9, 2019 as a document of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly and published in the official languages of the United Nations.
Congratulating the President of Turkmenistan on these significant events, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister wished the head of state new outstanding success in his noble work.
Having listened with satisfaction to the information sounded, the Turkmen leader addressed the compatriots.
One of the key goals of the foreign policy pursued by our neutral state, the head of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized, is to ensure a high level of security and stability in the region and around the world.
In this direction, international initiatives put forward by the Turkmen side within the framework of the United Nations are of particular importance for the practical implementation of the neutral legal status of the Fatherland, the protection of peace and the enhancement of a culture of mutual trust between different states.
Continuing the theme, the President noted that the basis of the foreign policy of Turkmenistan, based on the principles of positive neutrality, are such original features and traditions of the Turkmen people as benevolence, peacefulness, humanism.
This strategy of our country to expand international cooperation and search for positive solutions to issues of universal progress is warmly supported by the world community.
And therefore, the dynamic tread of the year Turkmenistan - Homeland of Prosperity, we can also clearly see on the example of the success of the state in foreign policy.
In this context, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the fact that recently two good news came from the headquarters of the United Nations.
The first of them: at the 106th plenary meeting of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, all Member States unanimously adopted the Resolution 2021 - International Year of Peace and Confidence, initiated by Turkmenistan.
Noting that 73 countries of the world acted as its co-authors, the head of state, taking this opportunity, expressed gratitude to the leadership of all states that contributed to the adoption of such an important document.
In addition, the final document of the First Caspian Economic Forum, held on August 11-12, 2019 in the city of Turkmenbashi and the Avaza National Tourist Zone, was adopted as a document of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly and published in the official languages of this international Organization, stated head of state.
Congratulating all compatriots on these landmark events, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the above-mentioned documents, adopted at the initiative of our country, are a vivid testimony of the international community's full support for the foreign policy of neutral Turkmenistan, which is being implemented in the name of ensuring universal peace, security and sustainable development.
Pursuing an open door policy, our sovereign Fatherland is currently carrying out peaceful, friendly, wide-ranging mutually beneficial cooperation with neighboring states and various countries of the planet in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Thus, the head of state further noted, in the current difficult conditions of our time, Turkmenistan is confidently promoting human-political initiatives of historical significance in the international arena in the context of maintaining calm on the planet, protecting the environment, ensuring economic, energy and food security, and effectively combating global threats.
Guided by a neutral legal status and international obligations, our state, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized, advocates the resolution of all issues by political and diplomatic means, mainly through the United Nations and other large authoritative organizations.
Turkmenistan through concrete deeds confirms that the principles of neutrality, peacefulness, good neighborliness were and remain the basis of its foreign policy, the President of the country said.
The head of state cordially congratulated everyone on the adoption at the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly and the publication of these documents initiated by our country.
It was emphasized that neutral Turkmenistan will continue to make every effort to strengthen peace, friendly, fraternal relations on the planet in the name of a prosperous and happy life for all mankind.
