Ata Zhurt Kyrgyzstan nominates candidate for post of Ombudsman

Ata Zhurt Kyrgyzstan parliamentary faction nominated a candidate for the post of Ombudsman of Kyrgyzstan. Secretariat of the faction told 24.kg news agency.

According to it, the former Deputy Prosecutor General Dzhamilya Dzhamanbaeva will run for the post of Ombudsman from the pro-government parliamentary association.

In the last parliamentary elections Dzhamilya Dzhamanbaeva was a candidate for deputy from Ata Zhurt Kyrgyzstan.

Earlier, Alliance, Yntymak factions and Eldik deputy group nominated ex-deputy Mirlan Dzheenchoroev to the post of Ombudsman. The documents were submitted to the relevant committee. However, the former deputy refused to run. It also became known that Ishenim faction intends to support its candidate, lawyer Kanymbu Karabayeva.

The social media users also report that MP Kamila Taliyeva intends to run for the post of Ombudsman. But the deputy herself denied the information, saying that she has no legal education, assuring that she intended to continue her work as a deputy.

Recall, 50 deputies voted for the resignation of Atyr Abdrakhmatova from the post of Ombudsman, and 5 voted against.
