Yekaterinburg: Ayaz Safarov and Shahid Lalayev, who are facing accusations related to crimes in Yekaterinburg from 2001, 2010, and 2011, have submitted an appeal challenging the pre-trial detention decision imposed on them.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the appeal seeks to overturn the 22-day pre-trial detention mandated by the first instance court. This move follows a decision by the Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg, which ordered pre-trial detention for several individuals, including Ayaz, Akif, Mazahir, Kamal, and Bakir Safarovs, Ahliman Ganjiev, Shahid Lalayev, and Aziz Abasov.
Additionally, Akif Safarov has also appealed against the detention ruling. Legal representatives for Safarov and Lalayev have submitted formal requests regarding their clients' detention circumstances.
On June 27, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) conducted raids on Azerbaijani residences in Yekaterinburg, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to several others.
