Baku: On May 13, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, met with a delegation led by the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Trkiye, Mr. Yasar Gler. The Turkish delegation is on an official visit to Azerbaijan.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Turkish delegation paid their respects by visiting the graves of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, and the prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, at the Alley of Honor. They also visited the Alley of Martyrs and the Turkish Martyrs' Cemetery, laying wreaths and flowers in tribute.

During the visit, Mr. Gler also visited Victory Park, where he laid a wreath at the Victory Monument, demonstrating the solidarity between the two nations. An official welcoming ceremony was held at the Azerbaijan Ministry of Defense, which included a ceremonial passage in front of the guard of honor, the national anthems of both countries, and the signing of the Book of Honor.

At the meeting, Colonel General Hasanov expressed satisfaction with Mr. Gler's visit and positively assessed the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Trkiye in defense and security. Mr. Gler conveyed his gratitude for the hospitality and emphasized the importance of such visits in enhancing military relations between Azerbaijan and Trkiye.

The discussions between the ministers also covered bilateral relations and regional issues, reflecting the ongoing commitment to strengthening ties and cooperation in the defense sector.
