Baku: Azerbaijan's State Border Service has thwarted an attempt to smuggle 16 kilograms and 220 grams of drugs from Iran into Azerbaijan. This successful operation occurred within the service areas of the "Goytapa" border detachments, as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and ensure the security of the state border. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Press Center of the State Border Service reported that on November 2, at 22:45, officials intercepted 5 kilograms and 715 grams of marijuana. Further, on November 3, at 07:45, they prevented the smuggling of 10 kilograms and 505 grams of drugs, comprising 7 kilograms and 445 grams of opium and 3 kilograms and 60 grams of heroin. The State Border Service continues to conduct operational-investigative measures to address these incidents.
