Baku: Azerbaijan has introduced specific procedures for managing corruption risks, as reported by APA. The head of the respective body will designate an authorized structural unit or individual to oversee these procedures, following an amendment to the law "On Combating Corruption" approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the revised law allows for specialists with specific expertise to be involved in the corruption risk management process. The designated body is tasked with identifying, analyzing, and assessing corruption risks from the previous year, with this process occurring annually from January 15 to April 15. If a structural unit or subordinate entity receives a higher volume of corruption-related complaints, the head of the body may opt to conduct additional assessments outside of the regular schedule.
The results of these risk assessments, including set targets and measures for the current year, along with a report on the previous year's actions, must be submitted to the Commission by June 1 each year. This information is also periodically disclosed to the public to ensure transparency.
The Commission, upon reviewing the submitted information, can offer recommendations to the relevant bodies on managing corruption risks and propose improvements to the existing anti-corruption legislation.
