Baku: During October, Azerbaijani authorities detained 75 foreigners living illegally in the cities of Baku and Sumgait. This operation was conducted by police officers, as reported by APA citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the detentions were the result of coordinated search operations carried out by the General Passport, Registration and Migration Department, in collaboration with the Anti-Illegal Migration Department and the Sumgait City Police Department. These foreign nationals were found residing in Azerbaijan without proper documentation and were not complying with the country's registration rules. Some had overstayed their residence permits or failed to register their change of residence within Azerbaijan. Following the detentions, administrative offense protocols were prepared under the relevant article of the Code of Administrative Offenses. The detained individuals were then handed over to the appropriate authorities for further processing.
