Baku: The improvement of the normative legal framework and institutional mechanisms in the fight against human trafficking continued in 2024, this is reflected in the Annual Report of the National Coordinator on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (2024), which was discussed at a joint meeting of Human Rights Committee, Committee of Law Policy and State-Building of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, it was reported that the draft law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings has been prepared (currently at the coordination stage). In a bid to enhance the efficiency of cooperation between state agencies in combating human trafficking and ensure the fulfillment of international obligations, the draft National Action Plan for 2025-2030 has been submitted to the relevant state authorities for feedback and suggestions.
