Azerbaijan Enforces Strict Penalties for Selling Dangerous Food Products.

Baku: Selling or producing dangerous food products in Azerbaijan may lead to severe penalties, including imprisonment of up to 10 years. This development follows the proposal of new Articles 200-3 in the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, APA reports. The amendments aim to enhance food safety regulations and impose stricter consequences on individuals involved in the production, sale, or storage of hazardous food items. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the draft legislation stipulates that those who knowingly produce, sell, or store dangerous food products in significant quantities will face a fine ranging from 10,000 to 15,000 AZN. Additionally, offenders may be deprived of the right to hold certain positions or engage in specific activities for up to two years. The penalties also include the possibility of restriction of freedom for up to one year or imprisonment for the same duration. This legislative move seeks to safeguard public health and deter individuals from engaging in activities that could endange r human life through food-related practices.
