Baku: An attempt to breach the state border from Iran into Azerbaijan was thwarted in the service area of the "Goytapa" border detachment of the Border Troops of the State Border Service (SBS), as reported by the Press Center of the State Border Service to APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, border search and operational measures led to the discovery and seizure of a substantial quantity of narcotics. Officials confiscated a total of 75 kilograms and 875 grams of drugs, including 48 kilograms and 875 grams of marijuana, 17 kilograms of heroin, 8 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 2 kilograms of opium. Additionally, 2,000 Methadone M-40 tablets were seized from the area.
Authorities continue to conduct operational-investigative measures regarding the incident.
