BAKU: Azerbaijan and Iraq hold great prospects for cooperation in the fields of construction, tobacco, and vegetable growing, the Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) Yusif Abdullayev said at the Azerbaijan-Iraqi business forum in Baku today, Trend reports. He recalled that many construction companies from Azerbaijan operate in Iraq. Abdullayev also reminded that this January, AZPROMO, along with Azerbaijani companies, participated in the 47th International Trade Fair in Baghdad, where the products of Azerbaijani tea factories and mineral water producers were showcased. "During this fair, one of the Azerbaijani water producers signed a contract and began exporting mineral water to Iraq. This is an example of successful cooperation between businessmen, and we want to continue this tradition," said the head of AZPROMO. According to him, the Azerbaijan-Iraq Business Council, established on September 17, 2024, will contribute to increasing trade turnover betwee n the two countries through the development of business relationships. This council will also help overcome emerging challenges. "Azerbaijan is starting to stimulate logistics companies, and such state support will be important for further developing trade relations with Iraq (through Trkiye and Iran)," Abdullayev noted.
