BAKU: The Government of Azerbaijan has rolled out the 'COP29 Special Visa', which is free of charge for participants registered for COP29 through the UNFCCC Online Registration System. This initiative, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, aims to facilitate the entry of international attendees to the conference. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the 'COP29 Special Visa' can be obtained either through the link provided in the registration confirmation email or from the diplomatic missions and consulates of Azerbaijan abroad. The UNFCCC registration confirmation email serves as a primary document for visa application at these missions. The visa permits a single-entry stay in Azerbaijan for up to 30 days, and participants needing to re-enter for further meetings must reapply using their registration number. Foreign attendees must ensure their passports are valid for at least three months beyond the visa expiration date. The visa processing time is three working days after submittin g a complete application online or in person at consulates. The expiration date is specified on the visa, and holders must exit Azerbaijan before this date. Participants may apply for the visa via the official electronic portal by completing the form and submitting required documents. Upon approval, a confirmation email will be sent with a download link for the visa. For those from countries with a visa-free agreement with Azerbaijan, no special visa is needed.
