Azerbaijan Ministry of Emergency Situations Evacuates 135 People from Flooded Regions

Baku: Emergency measures to eliminate the consequences of unstable weather conditions have been continuously carried out by the forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry told APA. Operations are currently ongoing in various directions in Baku city and Aghstafa and Gusar districts to drain and remove water from flooded areas and implement other necessary safety measures without interruption.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, water removal and evacuation operations have been completed in several areas, including different parts of Baku city, as well as in the cities of Ganja, Sumgait, Mingachevir, Shirvan, and the districts of Khachmaz, Shabran, Gusar, Khizi, Siyazan, and Samukh. As a result of the operation, 135 citizens, including 33 children, who were stranded in flooded areas, have been evacuated.

Nearly 450 personnel and about 150 pieces of equipment from the Ministry of Emergency Situations have been involved in the operations to eliminate the consequences.
