Baku: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev criticized what he described as double standards and political hypocrisy by some Western politicians, NGOs, and fake news media during his address at the World Leaders Climate Action Summit held at COP29. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev highlighted the tendency of certain Western entities to lecture other countries, using it as a modus operandi. He expressed disappointment at the attempts made over the past year to promote a boycott of COP29, which is hosted in Baku. Despite these efforts, the summit has seen participation from 72,000 attendees representing 196 countries, including 80 presidents, vice-presidents, and prime ministers. President Aliyev emphasized Azerbaijan's success in drawing a significant global audience to the summit, reiterating a welcoming message to the international community.
