Azerbaijan Progresses with Gas Infrastructure in Liberated Territories

Baku: Azerbaijan has revealed significant advancements in the construction of gas infrastructure within its recently liberated territories.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is executing a phased reconstruction of the gas transportation system, focusing on establishing main gas pipelines in four key directions.

The first direction targets the Lachin area, with the construction of the "Horadiz-Lachin" gas pipeline already completed. This includes several gas distribution stations (GDS) along the pipeline, such as "Jabrayil GDS," "Zangilan GDS," "Minjivan GDS," "Gubadli GDS," and "Lachin GDS." Construction work is ongoing for these GDS, particularly in Lachin, Jabrayil, Minjivan, and Zangilan, while preparatory activities are underway for Gubadli.

In the second direction, the Shusha area is being developed with the "Boyuk Bahmanli-Shusha" main gas pipeline now operational. The construction of the "Fzuli" branch has been completed, and Fzuli city is currently receiving gas. The "Aghoghlan" branch pipeline has also been integrated into the existing system, and work has commenced on the Fzuli, Shusha, and Aghoghlan GDS stations.

The third direction covers the Aghdam area, where the "Azadqaraqoyunlu-Aghdam" main gas pipeline has been finalized and commissioned. The construction of the Aghdam GDS is underway, further supporting the region's gas distribution needs.

The fourth and final direction focuses on the Kalbajar region, with the completion of the "Aghdam-Kalbajar" main gas pipeline. Construction of the "Kalbajar-Istisu" gas pipeline is also complete, featuring a gas measuring station (QTM) and the ongoing development of the Istisu QTM.

These infrastructure efforts mark a significant step forward in Azerbaijan's plan to enhance energy distribution in its liberated territories, aligning with the country's broader economic and regional development goals.
