Azerbaijan Pursues 11 Human Trafficking Suspects via Interpol

Baku: Azerbaijan has announced that it is actively seeking 11 individuals suspected of human trafficking through Interpol channels. This information was revealed in the Annual Report of the National Coordinator for Combating Human Trafficking (2024). The report was discussed at a joint meeting of the Human Rights, Legal Policy, and State Building Committees of the Milli Majlis, Azerbaijan's Parliament.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the report indicates that 30 individuals were wanted locally in the reporting year for various crimes, including human trafficking, involvement in acts of a sexual nature, operating brothels, involving minors in activities against public morality, and the illegal distribution of pornographic materials. Of these, 16 individuals have been detained and handed over to criminal prosecution authorities, including three human traffickers.

The authorities have identified the countries where these individuals were hiding. Requests for their extradition have been submitted in accordance with bilateral and multilateral mutual legal assistance agreements.
