The employee count in Azerbaijan witnessed a decline of 7,500 individuals at the conclusion of June 2023. According to the State Statistics Committee, the employee populace by June's end was 1,725,500, marking a decrease from January 1, 2023, when the number stood at 1,733,000. Within this figure, the public sector employed 903,300 people, while the private sector provided jobs for 830,600 individuals. In comparison to June 2022, the employee count experienced an uptick of 5,500 individuals, constituting a modest 0.3% rise. When juxtaposed with the figures from 2022, the number of employees dwindled in the public sector, while the private sector exhibited a marginal increase. As of the June conclusion, 894,200 employees were active in the public sector of the economy, and 831,300 were engaged in non-governmental enterprises. As of December 2022's culmination, the count of valid existing employment contracts reached 1.74 million. Within this, the non-oil sector contained 827,490 employment contracts. By January 1, 2023, the public sector held 859,884 active employment contracts, whereas the private sector maintained 853,342. During January to April 2023, the mean monthly nominal salary of Azerbaijani employees surged by 10.86% when compared to the corresponding period in 2022, resulting in a value of 913.9 manats
