Azerbaijan State Border Service Thwarts UAV Drug Smuggling from Iran

Lankaran: Azerbaijan's State Border Service (SBS) successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle narcotics into the country via an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) originating from Iran. This operation was conducted within the jurisdiction of the "Lankaran" border detachment of the State Border Troops Command.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the operation on April 21 led to the discovery and confiscation of 6 kilograms and 600 grams of marijuana near the Azerbaijan-Iran border. The Press Center of the State Border Service provided this information following the successful prevention of the drug smuggling attempt.

Ongoing operational and investigative measures are being carried out to further address the incident. The authorities are continuing their efforts to ensure border security and prevent similar incidents in the future.
