Khankendi: The State Examination Center of Azerbaijan will organize entrance exams in the city of Khankendi on May 25 and June 1. This marks the first instance of entrance exams being conducted in the liberated territories.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Center will administer university entrance exams for II and III groups on May 25, and for I and IV groups on June 1 at Karabakh University.
This year, entrance exams will take place in 24 cities and districts across Azerbaijan. Specifically in Khankendi, candidates from the city as well as from Khojaly, Aghdara, Shusha, and Lachin will participate. Graduates from M. Ulugbek School in Fuzuli, M. Mehdizade School in Jabrayil, and Aghali Village Secondary School in Zangilan are also expected to take their exams there.
A total of 51 applicants are expected for the exam on May 25, while 21 applicants will sit the exam on June 1. Since 2023, the State Examination Center has been conducting school-leaving exams in the liberated territories, starting with the Aghali Village Secondary School in Zangilan district. Subsequent exams were held in Lachin, Fuzuli, and Aghdara.
In 2025, school-leaving exams were conducted for the first time in Shusha, Khankendi, Khojaly, Jabrayil, and again in Lachin. This expansion of exams signifies a significant development in the educational landscape of Azerbaijan.
