Baku: Azerbaijan has extradited Saparov Atarejep Agajepbarovich, a Turkmen citizen born in 2000, to Turkmenistan to face criminal charges. The extradition follows a request by the Prosecutor General's Office of Turkmenistan, as confirmed by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan to APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Saparov was internationally wanted on charges related to crimes against sexual integrity and freedom. Authorities in Azerbaijan located and detained him in January, subsequently placing him in pre-trial detention.

The extradition decision was made in accordance with the "Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters" from January 22, 1993. Saparov was handed over to Turkmenistan's authorities under the escort of the Special Convoy of the Penitentiary Service of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Justice.
