Azerbaijani Air Force Commander Strengthens Military Ties with Uzbekistan

Tashkent: A delegation led by Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade, visited Uzbekistan upon the invitation of Major General Akhmad Burkhanov, Commander of the Air Defense Forces and the Air Force of Uzbekistan.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Azerbaijani delegation first visited Heydar Aliyev Square in Tashkent, where they paid tribute to the National Leader by laying flowers at his monument. Following this, Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade held meetings with the Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan, Major General Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov, and his counterpart, Major General Akhmad Burkhanov.

During the meetings, discussions focused on the current state and future prospects of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Both sides emphasized the importance of mutual visits to enhance the exchange of experience in military aviation and air defense. The discussions also covered other related issues of interest to both nations.

As part of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation toured the Chirchik air base and a military unit, where they were briefed on the activities and conditions at these facilities. The visit concluded with discussions on a number of mutual interests, and the Azerbaijani guests had their questions addressed.
