Baku: President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan held a meeting with President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea-Bissau, APA reports. The meeting, which took place on November 10, focused on strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations, particularly in the fields of education and economic cooperation. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Embaló expressed his gratitude for the organization of COP29 in Azerbaijan and the hospitality he received. He conveyed his confidence in the success of the event. The discussions between the two leaders included the provision of scholarships for training engineers and medical specialists from Guinea-Bissau, with Azerbaijan offering support through grants to member countries of the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The leaders also discussed the potential for expanding economic and commercial relations. This includes the organization of reciprocal visits by delegations and political negotiations facilitated by their respective forei gn ministers.
