Azerbaijani and Russian FMs discuss regional situation

Foreign Ministers Jeyhun Bayramov of Azerbaijan and Sergey Lavrov of the Russian Federation have had a telephone talk. According to the press-service of the Foreign Ministry, the Ministers discussed the agenda of the Azerbaijan-Russia cooperation, normalization of the Azerbaijan-Armenia relations as well as the current situation in the region. Minister Bayramov noted that intensification of Armenia's military and political provocations against Azerbaijan, in contradiction with international law, seriously damage the normalization of relations between the two countries. According to him, Armenia, which continues manipulations related to the allegedly existing 'tense humanitarian situation', 'blockade', puts obstacles to the peace process instead of sticking to the agreements reached to meet the needs of the Armenian residents by using the Lachin road and other alternative routes. Minister Sergey Lavrov underlined the importance of committing to the trilateral statement of November 10, 2020 signed by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia. The telephone conversation also saw exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
